Hope offers a year-round traditional worship service at 9:30 on Sunday mornings
and during the winter season, a blended contemporary & traditional worship service
at 6:30 on Thursday evenings.
(The Thursday evening service is suspended from May through September.)
There are many aspects to worship. Likewise, there are many aspects to a Worship Service and many ways you can participate in our Services. One of these is sharing with other believers in the partaking of Communion, also known as The Lord's Supper. Hope Church celebrates Communion during the Worship services on the first Sunday and Thursday of each month. In addition, we observe Communion on Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Christmas Eve.
We have one of the finest tracker pipe organs in the area. And we have THE finest organist & pianist in the state of Florida... and beyond (in our opinion, of course). Philip King enthralls us every week with new pieces; we feel like we've been to a concert after each Sunday service.
Our Chancel Choir provides special music and leads the congregation in singing hymns during Sunday services throughout most of the year. The Bells of Hope ring in praise to the Lord several times during the year. Our own Minister of Music, David Thomas, arranges many of the pieces performed by the Bells of Hope.
Every Sunday brings a new Children's Sermon, usually from our Director of Christian Education, Julie Carriker. She gets the kids quite excited each week during this special Time for Children. And when they are finished in the Sanctuary, the real fun begins... in Sunday School. The kids, along with Julie and her helpers, head over to the Education Building for a time of learning, songs, and fun.
Nursery care for infants through age three is available every Sunday morning from 9:30 through 11:30 a.m. There are always at least 2 adult nursery workers to take care of your children.
Our Thursday evening Contemporary Worship Service targets those in our church and community who have busy weekends or who work on Sundays and cannot attend worship on Sunday mornings. This is a family-friendly service which lasts only 45 minutes... just in time to get the kids home for bed.
Thursday Worship is held in McGrath Hall (rather than the Sanctuary). This service involves both traditional and contemporary music, and visuals are projected on large TV screens. This is a more interactive service than our Sunday service, especially the sermons!
The dress for Thursday's Worship service is "come as you are," and we encourage you to bring your coffee, water, or soft drinks with you. Even if you're not sure this service will appeal to you, we invite you to come and see what it's all about.
